Are You Walking in God’s Blessing?

I truly believe there is nothing more enjoyable to God than blessing His people! That is true with every good father. If you ask my children (even though they’re grown with their own families now), they will tell you, “Our daddy loves us!”

I love blessing my children and grandchildren…and now my great-grandchild. I want them to enjoy the best life that they could ever imagine.

We can see God’s heart in Genesis 12:2 where He declares, “I will bless you…” to Abraham. But His blessing didn’t stop with Abraham, God also promised to bless Abraham’s seed. The apostle Paul explained that “in Christ” you are Abraham’s seed saying, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29 NIV).

God always loves blessing you. He is not the one who is withholding good things from you. Dont ever forget that God enjoys blessing His people.

I have discovered that many believers often overlook that God’s blessings are conditional. His love is unconditional and unchanging. However, being on the receiving side of His blessing and goodness requires something of you.

There is an “if” attached to you receiving God’s blessing.

Deuteronomy 28:2 reveals, “All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.” Job 36:11 equally says, “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasures.”

Now, I am not talking about you having to earn God’s grace for salvation. That is a free gift. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”

God’s free gift of salvation through grace doesn’t automatically mean you will experience the fulness of God’s blessing. There are many Christians that have received salvation, but theyre living defeated lives. Theyre not walking in all that Jesus paid for.

Grace doesn’t give you the right to live anyway you want. Paul asked the believers in Galatia, “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth” (Galatians 5:7 NIV)?

Peter asked in his first epistle, “…what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God” (1 Peter 4:17)?

Obedience to God and His Word is just as much a command in the New Testament as it was in the Old Testament.

James, the half-brother of Jesus, teaches, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” (James 1:22 NIV). He goes on to say in verse 25, “doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

What if he’s not a “doer”? Can he still expect to be blessed? Not according to what James just told us.

What about the word “if”? Is this condition found in the New Testament? Yes, it is!

Jesus speaking says,“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32).

Do you truly want to be free? I’m talking about totally free? Then there is a condition: Abide, continue in the Word.

Jesus also said in Mark 9:23, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

IF YOU BELIEVE! It’s foolish to think that you can live your life any way that you want to and still expect God’s blessings to be on you.

Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” The Message translation says, “Fix your attention on God.”

This will put you in a position to receive His best in your life!

Allow God’s Word to be your moral compass. If God is for it, you be for it. If God is against it, you be against it.

If you want to experience an overflow of abundance this year, you can’t live any way you want. Become a person of integrity, humility, faithfulness, and generosity.

God blesses this type of person!

Proverbs reveals you can, “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed” (Proverbs 11:24-25 NLT).

I want to help you get in position to receive Gods best.
