Did you know that your income isn’t determined by your employer? In fact, it’s not even determined by your salary!
Before I embraced the revelation that I’m going to share with you today, I was limiting God’s blessing in my life and didn’t even know it. Today I’m going to share with you what I’ve discovered about the spiritual law that has a greater impact on your income than any other factor.
What I’m about to share is based on an everlasting covenant made by God Himself. In Genesis 9:11-12 God declares, “And I will establish my covenant with you…for perpetual generations.” The New Living Translation says, “For all generations to come.” That means this covenant is also for you today.
In these verses He’s talking to Noah, but it didn’t end with Noah! The same promises God made to Noah, He is making with you today. His covenant didn’t expire. He is a faithful God that keeps His covenant to this day.
You serve a covenant-keeping God!
It’s vital that you understand the covenant that God was making. We read in Genesis 9:1-3, “So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth…I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.’”
To better understand this covenant, our Bibles cross references this same promise God spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden. Genesis 1:28-29 says, “God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth…See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.’”
The first thing we see is that God blessed them. Blessed means empowered to prosper. This means that God empowered them to prosper and to increase by giving them seed for sowing!
God’s original covenant in the garden was that seeds will produce what you need. After the flood with Noah, God declares this same promise again! In fact, when the flood waters receded in Genesis chapter 8, one of the first declarations spoken by God is, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest…shall not cease.”
Seedtime and Harvest Shall Not Cease.
This is the promise God made to ALL generations! Therefore, the covenant promise regarding seedtime and harvest is still in force today. This is the most important and the most powerful spiritual law operating in this world.
This is the spiritual law that has impacted my life the most. It has taken me from a life of lack and debt to a life of abundance and blessing.
This covenant of seedtime and harvest means that planting seed without receiving a harvest isn’t natural. This is true for financial sowing just as much as it is for apples and oranges. Sowing without harvesting violates God’s covenant promise. God has made an everlasting promise, and you have every right to reap from every seed that you sow.
Are you a sower? Have you sown financially into your church and this ministry? I hope so! Because that means you have a harvest that is on its way to your house. As a sower, you can expect God to fulfill His covenant on your behalf!
This is why your salary doesn’t determine your income. Your sowing determines your income! When you’re a sower, God will bless you beyond what your employer pays, beyond what the economy dictates, and beyond what is natural. I’ve learned that you cannot defeat a sower! They always have a harvest coming their way.
God has empowered you to prosper by giving you seed to sow!
Sowing seed is how God designed prosperity and increase to come into your life. The wisdom in Proverbs tells us, “There is one who scatters, yet increases more” (Proverbs 11:24-25). The term scatters refers to a farmer scattering seed in his field.
This covenant promise is forever on the heart of God. Even when His people forget it, He never will! Throughout the 78th chapter, the book of Psalms says of God’s people, “they forgot” and “They remembered not”. But God never forgot! He was still faithful to His covenant.
So, let me encourage you – regardless of what the circumstances may look like, regardless of how long the victory takes, and regardless of those around you who quit, make the solemn commitment to keep trusting in God’s covenant. Declare boldly that God is a covenant keeping God!
Push back fear. Give no place to doubt and unbelief. Allow faith to swell up in your spirit today and know that there is a harvest on the way to your house right now!
Paul’s words to the church in Galatia are also for you today. He reminded them to, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall He also reap” (Galatians 6:7).
See, this covenant was still working in Paul’s generation, and it’s still working in your generation! Then Paul says in Verse 9, “And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” In other words, don’t ever give up on God’s covenant promise nor on your harvest.
You sowed the seeds, and you’re entitled to the harvest! And let me remind you of this awesome truth, GOD NEVER FORGETS A SEED SOWN!
Don’t let the devil talk you out of sowing, and by all means, don’t let him talk you out of your harvest. It’s your covenant right!
There’s so much more I’d like to share with you about the power of this covenant. This month as you sow financial seed into this ministry, I’ll have my team send you my powerful new teaching, Seedtime and Harvest – God’s Covenant to All Generations.
I truly believe this teaching will equip you to stand strong in faith as you wait for your harvest. You can give securely and conveniently online, at www.jsmiaustralia.org/offering or by calling +61 7 5576 5534 and be sure to check the box to receive my message.
My grandpa was a farmer and taught me at an early age that when you plant a seed, you better get ready for a harvest. That’s why I’m sharing this message with you today. I want you to get ready for your harvest. I pray for my partners each day and thank God for their faithful support.
As you give and live a generous life, I pray that God continues to pour out more blessing than you can even contain (Malachi 3:10)! Once again, seedtime and harvest is God’s solemn promise and you can expect Him to fulfill it on your behalf.
P.S. What harvest are you believing for? I want to believe with you. When you give or contact the ministry this month, add a note letting us know how we can agree in faith with you. Also, I would love to hear a testimony about how God is doing the impossible in your life! I hope to hear from you soon.
