Healing for the Sick
Healing for the World
Mark 16:16-20 – “…they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (v.18).
Most of the healings that were performed by the early church were among people who were not saved.
Healing was God’s method of revealing Himself to the natural mind.
Jesus’ entire ministry was a combat with demonic forces. The same is true of the Church.
We are taking Jesus’ place in this earth. We are to go into the world with His Name and act on His behalf.
2 Corinthians 6:16 – “…God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them…”
1 John 3:8 – “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
John 14:12 – “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
John 14:14 – “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

The believer has the nature and power of God in him. It is that power within him that goes out through his hands in the Name of Jesus and heals the sick.
Healing for the Carnal-Minded Christian
A carnal-minded Christian is one who has not yet come to the place where he is governed by the Word.
Carnal: sense-ruled
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 – “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able” (vv.1-2).
Hebrews 5:11-13 – “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe” (v.13).
John 20:24-29.
Thomas was sense-ruled.
God’s method of healing for the carnal-minded Christian
James 5:14-16 – “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (v.14).
The carnal-minded Christian cannot see that Jesus has already bore his diseases, but he can see the elders, hear their prayer, and feel the oil.
Anoint: to smear, rub over, to baste
The carnal-minded Christian doesn’t know how to get rid of his sins.
The carnal-minded Christian is living in the realm of the senses. The grace of God comes down and meets him in this realm.
Healing for the Mature Christian – Divine Health
A mature Christian is one who enjoys all of his privileges in Christ Jesus.
The Word-ruled Christian
Hebrews 5:14 – “But strong meat belongeth to them that are full of age, even those who by reason of use have senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
The Word-ruled Christian’s spirit man is in authority – not the mind or body.
The Word-ruled Christian’s mind has been renewed.
Romans 12:1-2 – “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (v.2).
Ephesians 4:23-24 – “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
The renewed mind says, “Himself took my infirmities and bore my sickness and carried my diseases, I am healed, and I thank the Father for divine health.”
The man whose mind is renewed lives in divine health.
Romans 8:5-6 – “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but They that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
