I just wanted to write you a reminder this month that it is God’s will for you to prosper not only financially, but in every area of your life. I have personally experienced the prosperity, health and success that the Word talks about in 3 John 2 for years now. But I have also learned that I gain these things in direct proportion to how my soul prospers, or to put it another way, my passion for getting to know the Lord.
So I encourage you to make pursuing Him through the Word your #1 pursuit. I guarantee the prosperity will follow – He will reward you!
You ask, what is a prosperous soul? A mind that is being renewed, a will that is conformed to God’s will, and emotions that are under the control of God’s Word! You can only accomplish this by spending much time in His Word! Here you will learn to think and to act like God as you get to know Him more intimately.
I want to show you what the Holy Spirit has shown me about prospering. This was God’s method for prospering and flourishing His children from the very beginning!
God’s plan was that man was to become a sower of seed and this is how he would be provided for and sustained. In Genesis 1: 29 God told Adam, “Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of the earth…to you it shall be for meat.”
In the literal Hebrew herb bearing seed means seeding seed and the phrase to you it shall be for meat means this is how you will be provided for.
Years ago when Carolyn and I saw that from the beginning of creation God intended for man to prosper by sowing seed, we came together and made a pact to become distribution centers for God.
Live to Give became our motto!
We found that the master keys to abundance and flourishing was a lifestyle of sowing our BEST seed and being mindful to be a blessing to others every day: live to give.
Be mindful to be a blessing! (Galatians 6:10)
When this becomes your motivation in life, you’ll be abundantly blessed and always have an
abundance of seed to sow because the one who blesses others is abundantly blessed! Isn’t this flourishing?
God also allows you to determine your harvest!
2 Corinthians 9:6 says “…he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” And in verse 7 “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give (sow)…”
God allows you to set the boundary or the limit on your harvest. So what kind of harvest do you want or need?
Let me encourage you to never doubt God’s faithfulness to fulfill His Word. When you sow, God promises to give you a harvest.
And I have learned that prosperity is a tool! It is not for bragging or showing off, but it is an attention getter so that people will be drawn to you in order to be attracted to our God.
Prosperity is so that you can be a blessing to others – His arms extended to the world so you can meet the needs of humanity!
If you are a sower, then you are entitled to a harvest – this is God’s promise!
Begin to call for or summon the things of God laid up for you!
According to James 5, your harvest is calling for you. Begin to send out your angels who are ministers for those who are heirs of the kingdom (Hebrews 1) commanding them to bring in your harvest.
Send your angels on assignment. Remember God never forgets a seed sown, so start calling for it today!
Hold fast! It’s just a matter of time and it will come. “Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9)
Never stop sowing and never give up! God’s best is for you to live blessed and to flourish!
